Jesus our Helper

Hebrews 2:14-18, "Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery. 16 For surely it is not angels that he helps, but he helps the offspring of Abraham. 17 Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18 For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted."

Pay attention to the Helper. Do not drift away from the Healer of your Soul. Christ has come to destroy the power of death. Christ has come to remove your fear of death. And He has done this by becoming like us. He is the victor and we are his. He lived the life of obedience. He drank the cup of God's wrath. He was tempted and suffered. He is a sure help for us.

Father, You are my great Lord and Master. You are full of love, holiness, and strength. Your wisdom is beyond my abilities to comprehend. I praise You. I praise You for so many things and I praise you specifically for Christ. What a wonderful gift; what a glorious gift. He is my salvation and my help. He is my priest who intercedes and my sacrifice for sins. Use me today to bring salvation to those I will see. Give me a warm heart and a caring face. May my contenance reflect my great salvation in Christ Jesus. Give me opportunities and boldness to take those opportunities. May this day bring You praise.

All for Christ
Amen
